6-Night Sedona Highlights
SATURDAY: Upon arrival in Sedona, while settling into your home for the week, you’ll be greeted with wine and cheese as you take in the view of this spectacular spot. You will be awe-struck as you realize that you are surrounded by Sedona’s beloved red-rock monoliths.
We will take a ride by Bell Rock and Cathedral Rock stopping at Airport Road to view your first Sedona Sunset, one of many this week.
A Welcome Dinner will be served when we return to the home leaving your first evening open to relax or to star-gaze on the deck or a scheduled massage in your room, or maybe Tibetan bowl relaxation therapy?
SUNDAY: You will be awakened by the smell of freshly brewed coffee and be served a made-to-order omelet accompanied by fresh fruit, juice, hearty toast, rolls cereals, yogurt and more.
The Chapel of the Holy Cross is our first stop today. Completed in 1956 and designed by Marguerite Brunswig Staude, a pupil of Frank Lloyd Wright, the Chapel appears to rise out of the surrounding red rocks. This site offers incredible photo opportunities in all directions!
After lunch our afternoon stop will be Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village. The collection of over 45 Spanish-style buildings with it’s cobbled streets, intimate courtyards, wrought-iron gates, large wooden doors, features fashionable shops and prestigious galleries.
After dinner you may schedule a massage, attend a yoga class or kick back and relax for the evening.
MONDAY: This morning enjoy a hearty pancake breakfast with pure maple syrup, fresh fruit, juice, granola, yogurt and more.
A ride through Oak Creek Canyon, a breathtaking chasm that today remains wonderful and is one of the richest riparian areas in the country. A stop at a natural water slide at Slide Rock State Park is a must!
We will tour Sedona Heritage Museum located at Jordon Historical Park in an old apple orchard. This museum depicts a century of Sedona’s history in pictures and words.
After dinner enjoy free time, a scheduled massage, yoga class or a night out.
TUESDAY: This morning enjoy a hearty Breakfast Buffet featuring many favorites. Joining us, is our guide, Cynthia Tierra. Cynthia, owner of Healing from the Heart is a professional hiking guide and will take us to Vortex Sites not listed on the tourist maps. Cynthia is also a Master Reiki Teacher and practices many more modalities.
After lunch we will have free time for galleries, shopping, mystical shops with readers, or relaxing at home.
After dinner enjoy a scheduled massage, yoga class or night out.
WEDNESDAY: Enjoy French toast, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, juice and more.
We leave for Jerome, this precariously perched “City in the Sky”, one of the most famous mining camps in the country. When the boom went bust, Jerome became a ghost town. Today, Jerome boasts a renowned art community, inviting shops, galleries, and restaurants.
Our stop in Cottonwood first established as a military camp and named for a stand of nearby cottonwood trees, is where the main crossing of the Verde River is located. We will have lunch in the Cottonwood Historical District: Old Town, listed on the National Register of Historical Places.
After Dinner you can choose a scheduled massage, star-gazing, or just relaxing at home.
THURSDAY: Today we start our morning with a Southwest Breakfast Buffet: burritos, tamales, verde salsa, avocado scramble plus your American favorites.
After breakfast we begin our search for petroglyphs (rock art etched into stone walls).
After lunch we will enjoy the sights, smells and tastes of a Verde Valley winery, taking home favorites to be enjoyed with dinner tonight.
Tonight we will enjoy a "Farewell Dinner", with local wine. We will reflect on the past week, perhaps exchange e-mail addresses, making plans to meet again on a tour with Blissful Travels with Margaret.
FRIDAY: Enjoy a "Breakfast Buffet" and be on our way home rested, relaxed, and blissed.
